Charter Policies

Our mission is to provide safe, unforgettable, and professionally operated marine charter experiences that inspire exploration, connection, and respect for the ocean. We are committed to delivering high-quality charter services—from scuba diving adventures and private outings to educational excursions—while upholding the highest standards of safety, service, and environmental stewardship. With every journey, we aim to transform the way our guests experience the sea.

Must Be a Certified Diver

  • All divers must hold a minimum of an Open Water Diver certification from a recognized agency. Proof of recent diving activity (within the past year) and experience in New England or similar cold-water conditions is required. Certification cards and logbooks will be verified prior to boarding.

Advanced Open Water 

  • Participation in advanced charters is limited to divers with an Advanced Open Water certification, proven experience in similar environments, or those accompanied by a certified dive professional. Divers without appropriate credentials will be denied boarding and will not receive a refund.

Specialty Equipment Use

  • Use of specialty dive gear such as drysuits, full face masks, DPVs, rebreathers, doubles, or side-mount systems, etc requires proof of training or specialty certification. No exceptions. This is to ensure your safety and the safety of others on board.

Dive Charter Boat

  • K1 CHARTERS is a charter vessel operator. If you require dive training or a guided dive experience, please contact our affiliated dive center, DiVE KS, in Beverly, MA.

Rates & Charter Details

  • Standard Charters: $110 per diver

  • Long-Range Charters: Pricing may vary and will be confirmed prior to booking

  • Private Charters: Priced per hour and must be paid in full at time of booking

  • Equipment Rentals: Not included. Contact DiVE KS in advance to reserve gear.

Arrival Policy

  • All guests must arrive 30 minutes prior to departure. The vessel will leave promptly at the scheduled time. Late arrivals will forfeit their spot without refund.

Weather, Marine forecast & Motion Sickness

  • Marine forecasts can shift rapidly. If you are prone to motion sickness, please take appropriate precautions. Refunds will not be issued due to seasickness.​

  • We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule charters at any time due to weather/marine forecast, mechanical issues, or unforeseen circumstances. When possible, cancellations will be made on the evening before the scheduled dive Guests will be notified by call, text, or email. Guests must confirm receipt of any cancellation notice.

  • Please note, we are not responsible if you arrive at the dock without acknowledging any notifications on behalf of  K1 CHARTERS (K1C).  Additionally, it is customary for the captain to cancel at the dock on the day of the scheduled charter if deemed necessary. If a charter is canceled before departure due to weather or mechanical issues, you will have the opportunity to re-book. 

  • No refunds for no-shows, late arrivals, or guest cancellations for any reason.

Season Pass Transfers

  • K1C Season Passes are fully transferable under the following conditions:

  • Replacement diver must meet all certification and experience requirements.

  • Required forms, including waivers and medical questionnaires, must be completed in advance.

  • K1C must be notified of the transfer via email at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled trip.

  • Failure to follow these steps or provide documentation may void the transfer.

  • Abuse of this policy (e.g., last-minute switches, uncertified substitutions) may result in revocation of the pass without refund.

Respect & Safety Policy

  • Safety is our #1 priority.

  • Respect and safety are core values in everything we do at K1 CHARTERS LLC. We treat every guest with the utmost courtesy, and we kindly expect the same in return. While we strive to create a welcoming environment for all, we reserve the right to refuse or cancel a booking if we feel another charter operation may be a better fit. This decision is never made lightly—it is taken with the best interests of our crew, our customers, and the overall experience in mind. Unkind, rude, or disrespectful behavior toward our crew or fellow divers is not acceptable.

  • Please note that if a guest engages in unsafe diving practices or refuses to follow our safety protocols, we reserve the right and are not obligated to provide future service. Lastly, the customer will be added to a block list. We will never compromise the safety of our crew or our customers. Thank you for helping us maintain a respectful, safe, and unforgettable experience for all.

No Refund Policy

  • All bookings and season pass sales are final. This includes, but is not limited to, cancellations due to illness, personal emergencies, or scheduling conflicts. By booking with K1 CHARTERS, you agree to these terms in full.

Guest Responsibilities

  • All guests must sign a Liability Waiver and Medical Questionnaire. Any “yes” responses require physician clearance.

  • No alcohol or drugs are allowed onboard. Guests appearing intoxicated will be denied boarding without refund.

  • You may be photographed or recorded onboard. To opt out, notify us via email before your trip.

  • All participants must be comfortable in open water and capable of boarding via dive ladder.

  • Full-face snorkel masks are not allowed on our vessels.

  • Failure to arrive on time will result in cancellation without refund.

Equipment & Liability Policy

  • Tanks and Weights :Tanks and weights are provided by our affiliate dive center, DiVE KS, and are not serviced, inspected, or maintained by K1 CHARTERS (K1C). These items are the sole responsibility of DiVE KS and the diver using them.

  • Concierge Transport Services : If you have selected a Season Pass or charter package that includes Concierge Gear Transport, please note that K1 CHARTERS (K1C) is not renting, servicing, or supplying this equipment. We are solely transporting items provided by DiVE KS on your behalf as a convenience.

  • By accepting this service, you acknowledge that K1C bears no liability for the condition, performance, or suitability of any transported gear, including tanks and weights.

Charter Calendar Access & Booking Policy

  • The K1C Charter Calendar is released monthly. Season Pass holders receive exclusive early access based on the privileges outlined in their individual pass tier. During your designated pre-booking window, you’ll have the opportunity to reserve charters in advance. Suggested dive sites will be provided as a reference, based on your certification level and diving experience. Specific site requests cannot be guaranteed.

  • All charters require a minimum of 4 divers to operate.

  • If a Season Pass holder pre-books a charter during their exclusive window but the minimum number of 4 divers is not met, the charter will not run as scheduled. In this case, we will:

    • Notify you in advance.

    • Offer to reschedule your booking to another available charter date, or

    • Allow you to transfer your booking credit to another eligible date within your pass period.

  • Once the early access window closes, the calendar will open in phases to other Season Pass tiers, followed by the general public.
